Avisi was founded back in 2000. The main objective was creating superior quality software in close collaboration with clients.

The goal was to be a different kind of software company. One that aimed for technical excellence while empowering clients with a truly transparent and open process. We also wanted an environment in which innovation and creativity would flourish.

We never wanted to be a big company, we just want to be the best. For us, that started with talented and passionate people, an optimal work environment and the best tools and processes available.

We form small self-sustaining teams of passionate software engineers that, as a unit, are completely dedicated to the quality of their work, the satisfaction of the client and aim for 100% uptime. We also put a lot of energy on training, measuring and reporting so we always keep getting better.

Open Source

We are definitely "Open Source / Open Standards" enthusiasts. We don't shut the door on closed source software but we certainly have a preference for open source, when possible. We contribute actively to several projects like Apache Camel, JavaScript libraries, Bromine, Jenkins CI, Confluence and others. We also regularly contribute translations for such projects.

Custom Software

Crafting a piece of quality software requires driven, self-contained and multidisciplinary teams that know how to collaborate. Our teams have been working together for years and know how to collectively deliver projects.

We want to be responsible for the hosting, support and maintenance of the software we build. That's just one more reason to build things right the first time, because being responsible for low quality software is such a drag.

Our requirements engineers aim to take interpretation out of the equation because in the end, we want to build what you need, not what we think you want...

Our development infrastructure allows us to get projects up and running in a manner of hours thanks to automated environment creation (DTAP), continuous release mechanisms, pre configured issue tracking systems and projects wikis.

We follow Scrum and Agile guidelines and are familiar with XP and RUP. Our approach is to release and go live every 4 weeks - from day one. That way our clients don't get surprised, ever.

Our approach to testing is simple: We automate as much as we can. This enables us to run thorough quality control checks across the entire platform quickly and it gives our test engineers the time they need to pay attention to details. We measure, report and update our test scripts for every release.

A mutual SLA is the base for a solid support and maintenance process. Our servicedesk engineers constantly monitor and guard SLA's using the best possible tools. They are always available, make sure to keep you informed and just know how to fix things. These guys boast an incredible response time that consistently falls under the 5 minute bar!

That said, it is our entire team that feels responsible for 100% uptime. Monitoring tools are visible to all so that nothing slips through the cracks.
